Op zoek naar het paradijs hebben miljoenen
mensen duizenden kilometers gereisd, zich onbewust van het bestaan van
dit stukje paradijs op aarde; de vallei van Pokhara. Het is gelegen op
‘n hoogte van 827 meter en beslist een van de meest pitoreske plaatsen
van Nepal. De schitterende meren en de bergen vergroten de schoonheid
van deze vallei. Pokhara ligt 200 km ten westen van Kathmandu en is
bereikbaar met de bus of het vliegtuig. Pokhara biedt een
indrukwekkend uitzicht over de Bergen Dhaulagiri; Fishtail; Manaslu,
vijf van de Annapurna toppen en nog meer prachtige sneeuwbedekte
bergketens. Het is een van de weinige plekken op aarde waar u een
dergelijk uitzicht geboden wordt vanuit een subtropische omgeving. De
dichtst bijzijnde sneeuwbedekte top van de Fishtail ligt op minder dan
30 km van Pokhara. De vele meren rondom de stad bieden mogelijkheid
tot zeilen, roeien, vissen en zwemmen
De New Pokhara Lodge ligt nagenoeg aan de rand van Lake Fewa, het
grootste meer van Pokhara. Zalig verscholen van de hoofdweg garandeert
het u rust en privacy. Er zijn 16 smaakvol ingerichte kamers alle met
volledig (schoon) betegeld toilet, douche/bad, 24 uur warm/koud water
en kabel TV (CNN; BBC; Star Movies; MTV etc.) Een zonneterras op het
dak biedt een prachtig uitzicht op de bergen, de mooie binnentuin is
‘n fijne plek om bij te komen. Een koud drankje of de heerlijke thee
wordt u met de bekende Nepali gastvrijheid gebracht. Internationale
telefoon, fax en e-mail aansluiting zijn aanwezig en in geval van
stroomstoring heeft het hotel een eigen generator. Ontbijt en lunch
worden in de tuin geserveerd maar ook op het zonneterras of in de
kamer. Voor het avondeten biedt het restaurant, met grote open haard,
een goed alternatief voor de vele eetgelegenheden in de omgeving.
Mahendra Adhikari zijn sinds 1985 eigenaar van dit hotel. Veel gasten
komen terug omdat het hotel schoon is, mooi gelegen en de service is
optimaal zonder opdringerig te zijn. Met vragen over trekkings, waar
te eten of wat dan ook kan je altijd terecht bij de beide broers. Zij
zullen er voor zorgen dat een verblijf in de New Pokhara Lodge een
onvergetelijke ervaring wordt.
OPMERKINGEN UIT HET GASTENBOEK
Na een goddelijk verblijf van een kleine week in new Pokhara lodge is
de tijd van vertrek aangekomen. na een zware trekking in de bergen is
dit DE PLAATS to be.Gastvrijheid rust goede verzorging (ontbijt in de)
heerlijke tuin en attenties deden ons elke dag thuiskomen. Met lode
schoenen ondergaan we onze terugreis. Deze plek is om nooit te

Meindert and I came back to Nepal for our honeymoon. We both had been
here before and both had very good and warm memories, so we decided to
came back for the honeymoon. We are very happy we did. We love the

It's now seven years ago since I first brought a trekking groups here
to the New Pokhara Lodge, and I have been bringing groups ever since.
I must say that it's probably one of the best hotels in its category
in the whole region. The staff and the two brothers Jagan and Mahendra

I was so happy here that although I had planned to stay a fortnight I
remained for nearly a month. It is good to know that the water and
food are safe, with no fear of illness. I enjoyed the peace of the
attractive garden and looked with wonder as from the roof I watched
dawn light up the snows of the Annapurna Range and Machhapuchere. The
staff are always friendly and attentive to our every need and the

Over 20 month ago I left Scotland on a round the world bicycle tour.
Since the start I have stayed in well over 500 different hotels, guest
houses, hostels and other establishments (and also one bus shelter in
England). Some of them have been extremely pleasant places to stay.
But I put New Pokhara Lodge at the top of my list. This is an
excellent hotel. Both owners and staff are extremely pleasant and
helpful. The location is ideal, being very close to lake and yet in
its own secluded garden. The rooms are most comfortable and spotlessly
clean. When I arrived I intended to stay two or three nights. In the
